Join us for a special screening of The Great Debaters, starring Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker. Inspired by a true story, the film follows a team of young Black students from a historically Black college who use the power of debate to challenge injustice, confront inequality, and make their voices heard during the Jim Crow era.

As part of Doane’s annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Week, The Great Debaters reflects core themes of the week—leadership, equity, education, and the courage to speak truth in the pursuit of justice. The film serves as a powerful reminder of how words, ideas, and collective action can drive meaningful change.

Join us to be inspired, reflect, and continue the important conversations sparked by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring legacy.
